What is Lakshagraha in Mahabharat?
Lakshagraha was a house which was made on the orders of Duryodhana. In Mahabharata, Lakshagraha plays an important role.The Kauravas had built this cave and plotted to burn Pandavas alive. But the Pandavas saved their lives through the narrow road.Duryodhana was enmity with the pandavas from the beginning and every time he kept plotting to kill them. His uncle Shakuni was giving full support in his work. Once Duryodhana prepared a plan to eliminate Pabdavas along with their families.This plan of Duryodhana was very Dangerous.Duryadhana build Lakshagraha in Vanavrit.Its ruins ara found in Barnawa area of baghpat district. A tunnel built in this palace opens near the Hindon river.
How Duryodhana Convinced his Father ?
Duryodhan also took help of his father to make his plan successful. Duryodhan began to realize that Yudhishthira had become popular among the people of Hastinapur. Impressed by these qualities, Bhishma has even expressed his desire to enthrone his grandfather Yudhishthira. In such situation, Duryodhana had decided that he would not left this happen at any cost. So he said to his father, "Father"! If once Yudhishthira gets the throne, then this Kingdom will belong to the Pandavas forever. The Kauravas will remain their servants. Dhritarashtra, explaining to Duryodhana, said that son Duryodhana! Yudhishthira's children This is why he has authority over this kingdom. Then Bhishma and his subjects also want to make him king." Explaining to Duryodhana, Dhritarashtra said son Duryodhana ! Yudhishthira is the biggest among the sYudhishthira is the biggest among the sons and therefore he has the right to this kingdom. Then Bhishma and the people also want to make him king." Hearing the words of Dhritarashtra, Duryodhana said, "Father! I have arranged it, just tell me somehow to send the Pandavas to Warnawat."
After finding out the plan, the Pandavas started taking measures to protect themselves. The tunnel is ready. Then one day Yadhishthira said to Bhimsen, "Bhim! Now we all should get out of here by burning the wicked Purochan in this Lakshagriha." Bhima took Purochan prisoner the same night and set the palace on fire. Yudhishthira came out safely through the tunnel along with mother Kunti and brothers. But when Duryodhana came to know about the escape of the Pandavas, he got very angry at the failure of his plan and again started preparing for a new plan.
